Phil Ivey has been branded as the best poker player on the planet by quite a few of the top professionals. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to Jersey before reaching the age of 1. His grandpa taught him one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was addicted to poker and wished to learn anything he possibly could about poker. Phil routinely told his elders that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil did not permit the detrimental feedback from other people annihilate his dream of becoming one of the greatest poker competitors in the world.

Phil began competing seriously after acquiring a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He honed his techniques at the poker rooms of Atlantic City. The beginning few years for Phil were a learning opportunity and winning wasn’t a regular outcome at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker when he made two final tables and won his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the final table he defeated many of the well known professionals including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

He made a decision to take his game to the next level and headed out west to Las Vegas. Phil continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Phil credits his success to dedication and an eternal passion for the game of poker. Phil says that he’s learning every day and is incredibly humble about his accomplishments. Phil knows he makes blunders in each session of poker and always strives to get better.

Despite the fact that Phil has come first in some big tournaments, he likes destroying money games on a regular basis.
