NL Texas Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been labeled as the greatest poker player in the world by most of the top professionals. He was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to Jersey before reaching the age of 1. His grandpa taught him one cent-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was addicted to poker and wanted to discover every little thing he could about the game. He routinely would tell his parents that he was planning on being a professional poker player. Phil didn’t allow the detrimental feedback from others annihilate his goal of being one of the strongest poker competitors on the planet.

He started playing seriously after getting a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He practiced his techniques at the casinos in Atlantic City. The beginning number of years for Phil were a learning period and coming away with a win was not a common thing at the time. Phil became known at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he achieved two final tables and won his first WSOP bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the closing table he destroyed many of the well known pros including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil decided to take his game to the successive level and headed out west to Las Vegas. He continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Phil credits his success to hard work and an eternal passion for the game of poker. He says that he’s learning every single day and is incredibly abashed about his accomplishments. He knows he makes blunders every single session of poker and constantly aspires to improve.

Despite the fact that Ivey has won some big-time tournaments, he likes winning money games on a normal basis.
